Byron Lazine and Nicole White are two Connecticut agents who share their thoughts on the week’s news every Friday in The Real Word, a weekly video column about Inman.
Rising lumber costs have increased the cost of new homes by an average of $ 36,000, according to an Inman article published May 3. Rising costs are affecting not only the new home construction industry, but also inflation – a growing problem in a pandemic-induced market.
“During the pandemic, it was very difficult for builders to get the materials,” said Nicole. “But now, even if they are able to get the materials, the cost continues to skyrocket.”
More this week: Bid wars are the new normal in this ardent seller’s market. In this episode, Byron and Nicole go through a list of tactics that will help buyers influence the sellers’ decision and ultimately win the home of their dreams. Which bid warfare strategy from this article by Jimmy Burgess Inman is a thug?
“Find out what’s important to the deal. How can I be creative here? “Said Byron. “Because as Jimmy writes in the article, price is one thing, but the bottom line for the seller is what really matters.”
