Music streaming service SoundCloud has teamed up with US-based TikTok rival Triller to integrate a playlist feature curated by Soundcloud into the short-form video platform’s app.
This message follows the start of others SoundCloud-Cured programs with platforms such as SiriusXM, Dash Radio and Australia’s Southern Cross Austereo.
According to Soundcloud, providing this access to the Triller platform will “showcase and support emerging independent artists in a unique way”.
The playlist was released this week on Triller and can also be streamed on SoundCloud.
The playlist curated by SoundCloud can be found on Triller’s Music Discovery page and is updated monthly with new tracks selected by music teams at Repost, SoundCloud’s Creator Services division.
Additionally, trill creators have all the titles they can use in their video content within the app.
The new integration also allows artists to link their Triller and SoundCloud profiles. According to SoundCloud, this allows artists to “generate additional income” through the license fee system operated by fans.
Elsewhere, Triller users can create their own “power edits” of tracks to match their video creation.
“Aspiring artists now have the opportunity to build a Trill fan base who is empowered to create, share, and connect.”
Mahi de Silva, trill
Mahi de Silva, CEO of Triller, said, “With the common goal of showcasing established and emerging talent, this partnership puts artists first – just like Triller.
“In front of a global audience, emerging artists now have the opportunity to build a Triller fan base who is empowered to create, share and connect.”
“We are very excited to be working with Triller to connect these artists with new audiences.”
