Rachel Menzies has joined BMG in the newly created role of Senior Director Original Repertoire Services, which the company sees as a boost to its “music offering for media customers”.
Menzies, based in London, reports directly to Alistair Norbury, President Repertoire & Marketing UK at BMG.
She is responsible for providing original repertoire solutions for media clients and has access to BMG’s list of artists, songwriters and composers for production music, which works closely with BMG’s existing UK synch and production music teams. She will also act as Key Music Supervisor for BMG’s media client accounts.
Prior to joining BMG, Menzies worked at Native Music Supervision, West One Music and Musicmetric (part of the Semetric group that was eventually sold to Apple) and was part of the founding teams of boutique music publisher / dubbing agency Hookline LTD and the production music company Dynamic (taken over by BMG Production Music).
Over the past three years, BMG has expanded its B2B music service through a number of executive appointments and contracts, including the acquisition of Deep East Music and Dynamic Music and partnerships with ITV Studios, Bonne Pioche Music, Wibbitz and Red Bull.

Menzies brings over 15 years of experience in music publishing with success in music oversight, new business and international development. She has strong relationships with global creative teams in the broadcast, film, games and radio industries and has worked on projects with some of the greatest artists, broadcasters (BBC, Sky TV, Discovery Channel, Fox, Disney, MTV) and brands (Coca) worked Cola, Heineken, Amazon, British Airways, Premier League and Starbucks) in the world.
In 2019, she was named one of The Pitch Fanzine’s Top 100 Superwomen – a list celebrating influential women who work behind the scenes in the creative industry.
