Universal teams with Big Hit and YG Entertainment invest in a global live streaming platform

Universal Music Group is partnering with two K-pop titans – Big Hit Entertainment and YG Entertainment – to invest in a new digital live streaming platform with ambitions “on a global scale”.

Big Hit announced that both YG and UMG have acquired a stake in KBYK Live, a joint venture established between Big Hit and Kiswe last year.

KBYK Live then launched VenewLive, a platform for live streaming content, in September.

With the equity stake, YG and UMG say they will help grow VenewLive “in a way that a range of artists, including those signed with UMG and YG, can participate”.

In a press release it was added that as a result of the contract, VenewLive “is expected to secure world-famous artist line-up and high-quality performance content from Big Hit, YG and UMG and further expand the platform through the use of Kiswe technologies including Multi-View Live Streams “.

The PR continued: “Thanks to the latest technologies from Kiswe, VenewLive can tailor any concert experience to the identity and characteristics of each artist, providing fans with innovative and original performance experiences so that they can enjoy their favorite artist’s content in a uniquely customized, authentic and authentic style personalized way. “

According to Big Hit, the technology behind VenewLive was used for two record-breaking BTS online concerts last year: “BANG BANG CON The Live” and “MAP OF THE SOUL ON: E” in June and October respectively.

The former attracted 756,000 viewers at the same time, while the latter was viewed by a total of 993,000 viewers worldwide.
