How we all became more aware of self-care

In the past year, many of us have lost some of the traditional stress outlets. Blowing off steam at the pub on a Friday night is no longer an option, it has become more difficult to connect with friends in a coffee shop, and shopping for retail therapy has been largely impossible.

The stress of life has not stopped however; in fact, for many of us, living with covidic disabilities has meant an increase in the pressures we have felt. For many of us, this means focusing on self-sufficiency and finding new ways to improve wellbeing.

There has also been a significant change in people’s behavior as more people than ever have spent more time at home than ever before. This includes people making the transition from sending relatives to nursing homes to finding nursing homes (source: Better Healthcare) for patients in their own four walls.

Although working through covid has brought new challenges and stresses with it, many of us have found a little more time for ourselves. This has given us an opportunity to rethink how we take care of ourselves. Whether you’ve found more time to go for a daily walk or have taken long relaxing showers, many people have found a great way to take care of their mental and physical well-being.

Self-care Sunday

The nice thing about a self-care Sunday is that it can bring anything with it. Sundays are a fantastic time to relax, reflect, and prepare. Blocking an entire day from thinking, recharging, and taking care of yourself can make a huge difference to your wellbeing for the following week and beyond.

Some nice things to do for a Sunday include taking a long walk, cooking a roast, calling out to meet with loved ones, shopping for groceries and preparing meals for the week, journaling, and watching a movie with a cup of tea.

Just a few suggestions to get you started, but taking the time to take care of yourself and focus on your mental wellbeing will leave you feeling refreshed and recharged for the week to come. It can be so easy to take your time and benefit from home hair care treatments. it doesn’t have to be too laborious, but every little bit helps.

Mindful cooking

Cooking nutritious and delicious meals can have a huge impact on your physical health and mental wellbeing. Take the time to make cooking a mindful activity.

Try not to distract yourself with music videos; instead, take the time to focus on every element of your work. When you cook, consider the sounds, colors, and smells and take pride in preparing a meal that will nourish your body and calm your mind.

Pampering time

Spending an extra 10 or 15 minutes to prepare for the day can make a huge difference in mental wellbeing. Whether you prefer to be pampered before the start of your day or relax at the end of the day, the time you spend indulging is never wasted.

If we indulge in natural products that nourish our skin and hair, like argan oil (further information), not only will we see and feel an improvement, but we will unconsciously send ourselves the signal that we are worth the time to take care of them.

Daily walking

The daily exercise of my body not only has an incredibly positive effect on our physical and mental well-being, but the combination of this activity with fresh air and nature offers us two advantages. Taking the time to explore your surroundings and walk mindfully will leave you feeling refreshed and energized. Try simple mindfulness activities, such as B. focus on five things you can see, four things you can hear, three things you can smell, two things you can touch, and even one thing you can taste.
