Irving Azoff buys again when Iconic records Linda Ronstadt and records music rights

Irving Azoff‘s new company Iconic Artists Group has acquired again.

The multiple Grammy award-winning artist Linda Ronstadt has sold her recorded musical assets to the company for an undisclosed amount.

According to the company, Iconic will work with Ronstadt and her team (Manager, John Boylan and Personal Assistant, Janet Stark) to promote their catalog and “preserve their legacy in the digital age.”

Today’s news is the third deal Iconic announced in recent weeks after David Crosby recently acquired its publishing and music recording rights, which include his solo work as well as work with The Byrds. Crosby & Nash; Crosby, Stills & Nash; and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

In addition, Azoff’s company last month acquired a controlling interest in the Beach Boys’ intellectual property, including the band’s sound recordings, brand, select musical compositions and memorabilia.

Linda Ronstadt is one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time. She has sung on over 120 albums with at least 31 gold and platinum records and sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

Her hits include You’re Not Good, Blue Bayou’s Somewhere Out There duet with James Ingram, and Don’t Know Much with Aaron Neville.

Ronstadt has won 11 Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music Awards, an Emmy, and an ALMA Award.

She received the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011, inducted the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, received the National Medal of Arts from President Barack Obama in 2014, and received the Kennedy Center Honors for Lifetime Artistic Achievement in 2019.

Azoff’s Iconic Artists Group is described as a “brand development and management company dedicated to building a portfolio of well-known entertainment artists, creators and brands.”

“We acquire and / or manage brands with the aim of providing a permanent solution to protect, curate and develop their legacy for the future,” the Los Angeles-based company writes on its LinkedIn profile, which states that it will be in 2018 Founded.

Iconic also says there is “a void in the music business for legendary artists,” adding that it is “dedicated to the acquisition and active management of a portfolio of select artistic assets and the preservation of the important legacies of these music icons.”

“It is extremely gratifying to be in the company of Irving Azoff, his team and family, many of whom have been my friends and colleagues for years.”

Azoff Company Chairman and CEO Irving Azoff added, “When I arrived in Los Angeles in 1972 to pursue my dreams in the music business, I soon became a best friends and managers of Glenn Frey and Don Henley. Without Linda Ronstadt and John Boylan, there would never have been an eagle.

“We were friends and family and we grew up together and what a ride it was. The countless tours with the Eagles and Linda and their collaboration form the backbone of the history of music in Southern California.

“For Linda and John, one of the most satisfying moments of my career has been to entrust us with the honor of advancing their work.

“Linda’s talent is unparalleled, but her courage and dedication to making important music across many genres is her legacy. We will preserve this legacy for them at all costs. Thanks, Linda and John. We won’t let you down. “
