Spring Training Summary: Red Sox hit 3 homers and broadcast Rays

Jarren Duran went 4-5 with three RBIs, and Hunter Renfroe, Michael Chavis and Chris Herrmann each beat Homer when the Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays 11-7 after five runs down on Friday at Fort Myers, Fla.

While seven different Red Sox players had at least one RBI to highlight a 13-hit attack, Boston starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi fought fiercely, allowing five runs with eight hits, five rashes and a walk in four innings.

Mike Zunino hit a solo home run and Yandy Diaz added a two-run shot for the Rays.

Rockies 9, Indians 4

Sam Hilliard hit a two run homer and Renato Nunez added a solo shot to take Colorado over Cleveland in Scottsdale, Arizona. Roberto Perez went 2-2 with a home run and two runs for the Indians.

Cubs 6, A’s 1

Anthony Rizzo went 3-3 with two RBIs, Willson Contreras hit a solo homer and Ian Happ added a triple double to help Chicago beat Oakland in Mesa, Arizona. Chad Pinder had two of Oakland’s six hits.

Blue Jays 8, Tiger 1

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 3-3, Jonathan Davis 2-4 with two runs and Toronto hit three homers in a win over Detroit in Lakeland, Florida. JaCoby Jones went 2-3 with a home run for the Tigers, who only scored four hits and hit 14 times.

Mets 8, Cardinals 5

Francisco Lindor scored a Grand Slam and Tomas Nido scored a solo shot in New York’s win over St. Louis in Port St. Lucie. Fla. Max Moroff and Scott Hurst scored two home runs for the Cardinals, who also received a run-run. Double pack from Evan Mendoza.

Angel 4, Royals 4

Carlos Santana scored a double with two runs and a solo home run, and Bubba Starling’s single with runs scoring in the eighth inning drew Kansas City in Surprise, Arizona, against Los Angeles. Scott Schebler went home with three to 2: 2 runs and two runs for the Angels, who also got a run scoring double from Jo Adell.

Dodgers 7, Rangers 2

Max Muncy went 3-on-3 with one RBI and two runs and Edwin Rios went 2-on-2 with two RBIs to lead Los Angeles over Texas in Phoenix. Ronald Guzman and Sherten Apostel each scored a solo home run to explain the Rangers’ score.

Brewers 9, Diamondbacks 3

Billy McKinney scored two home runs, including a three-run shot that highlighted an eighth inning with seven runs as Milwaukee battled Arizona in Phoenix for a win. Christian Walker went 2: 4 with a triple home run for the Diamondbacks.
