Round Hill launches the Sound Hill Neighboring Rights division

New York-based Round Hill Music has launched a new neighbor rights division called Sound Hill.

Round Hill has been earning its own label share of neighboring rights since 2015, and the company says the introduction of Sound Hill “is an acknowledgment that this is one of the fastest growing sources of income in the music industry”.

Sound Hill is overseen by Robert Brenner, Round Hill’s manager of royalty services and label operations.

His team will be responsible for ensuring that each artist’s repertoire is accurately registered with neighboring legal entities around the world, that international income is tracked and that data is optimized.

An integral part of Sound Hill’s offering will be the provision of royalties for neighboring rights.

The Company intends to pay cash for the acquisition of all or part of these rights or cash advances in exchange for long-term management rights with a pre-determined commission on the royalties collected.

According to Sound Hill, this is “a potential lifeline for tour artists who may need funding to save them during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis”.

“With the introduction of Sound Hill, it is recognized that this is an area where our company can bring real value to artists.”

“We always strive to provide more service to our artists, and Sound Hill will enable us to offer them and others great service.”
