Using Radisson Points for anything other than hotel stays

Radisson Rewards members earn points quickly thanks to the hotel stay program’s generous point payouts, not to mention how easy it is to earn points with a Radisson co-branded credit card how Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature® card. This card pays 10 bonus points for every dollar spent on Radisson stays and currently offers a welcome bonus with good earnings: Up to 85,000 Bonus Points – Earn 50,000 points after your first purchase plus 35,000 points if you spend $ 2,500 on your card in the first 90 days.

To redeem points, staying at a participating Radisson hotel may offer you the best value for money. However, your points can also be redeemed for more than just hotel stays, including plane tickets, spa treatments and merchandise.

Here are instructions on how to redeem your Radisson Rewards points.

More ways to use Radisson Rewards points

Enhance your hotel stay with Express Awards

If you have booked at a participating hotel, you can redeem Radisson Rewards points for Spa treatments, food and beverage credits, and room upgrades during your stay. Your Express Awards options vary by hotel and may include local experiences, parking, enhancements to meetings and events, or even laundry service.

You must inquire directly with the hotel to see which Express Awards are available to you. Call ahead if you want to know your options in advance.

Transfer points to airlines

Transferring 2,000 Radisson Rewards points will earn you 200 airline miles in most programs. Points are transferred in steps of 2,000.

The cheapest withdrawals in the Radisson Rewards programCategory 1 properties start at 9,000 points per night. So if you had 90,000 Radisson points, give up the value of up to 10 hotel nights for just 9,000 airline miles.

Take away: Convert your Radisson points into airline miles only when you really need them. It can take four to six weeks for miles to appear in your frequent flyer account. So this is not a great option if you want to get a hard-to-find airline reward before someone else does.

Nerd tip: If you have airline miles nearing their expiration date, it may be useful to transfer Radisson points. This is because the transfer itself can count as an activity on the airline miles account, which can prevent your existing mileage supply from running out.

Buy prepaid gift cards

You can exchange Radisson Rewards points for retail gift cards – either a physical card or an electronic card. Gift card options include AMC Theaters, Best Buy, iTunes, Kroger, Starbucks, Walgreens, and many others. The redemption rate may vary, but in most cases 7,000 points are expected for a $ 10 gift card.

This is not a good value compared to redeeming points for a standard Category 1 room for 9,000 points. However, if you prefer a retail gift card, this may be worth your while.

If you’d rather not associate your points with a specific brand, you can convert points to a Prepaid gift card with Mastercard or Visa This can be used like cash wherever credit cards are accepted. However, with this flexibility comes a higher price. A $ 25 gift card requires 20,000 points, a $ 50 gift card requires 35,000 points, or a $ 100 gift card requires 67,000 points.

Get access to the Priority Pass Lounge or the TSA Precheck

Priority Pass Lounges are located all over the world. You can redeem 125,000 points for a Standard Plus membership, which gives you 10 lounge visits per year. The normal cost for the Standard Plus membership card is $ 299.

When you need to burn 65,000 points, redeem them to access the TSA Precheck program. You enjoy five years of optimized experience in airport security.

Help others

You can use your points to make donations to various charities, including SOS Children’s Villages, the American Red Cross, and First Climate’s climate protection projects. The first two require a minimum donation of 3,000 points to the organization, which will be converted to $ 1.60 for every 1,000 points redeemed for the organization. The minimum donation from First Climate is 4,000 points.

The number of points you can donate is maximum.
